Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms govern the services The Animated Editor provides and the use of this website. Please read them before engaging us. For a specific project, the written quotation or proposal we send you forms part of the agreement and takes precedence where it differs from these terms.
1. Who we are
The Animated Editor is a digital studio based in Limassol, Cyprus, providing video production and 2D animation, web design and development, domain and hosting setup, and mobile app publishing.
2. Quotations and engagement
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise and are based on the scope described in them. Work starts when you confirm the quotation in writing and, where a deposit applies, when that deposit is received. Anything outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before it is carried out.
3. Your responsibilities
To deliver on time we need the material we ask for — text, images, logos, brand assets, credentials and access to any accounts involved — within a reasonable period. You confirm that you own, or are licensed to use, everything you supply to us. Delays in supplying material move the delivery date accordingly.
4. Revisions
Each quotation states how many rounds of revision are included. Further revisions, or changes that alter the agreed direction after it has been approved, are charged at our then-current rate.
5. Fees and payment
Fees, the payment schedule and any deposit are set out in the quotation. Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. Where a project is paused or cancelled by you, work completed up to that point remains payable.
6. Third-party costs
Domains, hosting plans, app store developer accounts, stock media, fonts and similar third-party items are charged at cost and are subject to the terms of the provider concerned. Recurring items such as domains and hosting renew on that provider’s schedule and remain your responsibility unless we have agreed in writing to manage them.
7. Intellectual property
You own the final deliverables once they have been paid for in full. Until then we retain ownership. We keep ownership of our own underlying tools, source files, components and working methods, and of any third-party material that remains licensed rather than transferred. Where a deliverable depends on third-party assets, the licence for those assets is passed to you on its own terms.
8. Showing the work
Unless you ask us in writing not to, we may show completed work in our portfolio and marketing, including on this website. If a project is confidential, tell us and we will keep it out.
9. App store publishing
Where we publish an app on your behalf, approval rests with Apple and Google. We prepare submissions to their published guidelines, but we cannot guarantee approval, approval timescales, or that a platform will not change its rules later.
10. Hosting, uptime and maintenance
Hosting is provided by third-party providers under their own service levels. Unless you have a written maintenance agreement with us, ongoing updates, backups, monitoring and security patching are not included after handover.
11. Warranties and liability
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill. We will correct faults in our own work reported within 30 days of delivery at no charge. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability in connection with a project is limited to the fees paid for that project, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of data, or indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Confidentiality
Each of us will keep the other’s non-public information confidential and use it only for the project.
13. Termination
Either of us may end an engagement in writing. You pay for work completed and for third-party costs already committed. We will hand over the completed, paid-for deliverables.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force for your project is the one published when you confirmed your quotation.
