Cookie Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. This page lists every cookie this site can set, what it does, and how long it lasts. Our Privacy Policy explains the wider picture.

Your choice

Nothing optional loads until you agree. When you first arrive you are asked whether to allow analytics; until you accept, no analytics script is downloaded and no Google cookie is created. Rejecting also deletes any Google cookies left over from an earlier visit.

You can change your decision whenever you like: Cookie settings.

Strictly necessary cookies

These make the site work. They cannot be switched off, and they are not used to track you.

Name What it does Lasts
ae_consent Remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking. 6 months
ae_lang Remembers whether you are reading in English or Greek. 12 months
pll_language Set by Polylang to serve the right language version of a page. 12 months
theme-mode Remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance. Until you clear your browser data

Analytics cookies — only with your consent

Set by Google Analytics, and only after you choose “Accept analytics”. They tell us which pages are read and how people arrive. We turn on IP anonymisation and we do not enable Google’s advertising or personalisation features.

Name What it does Lasts Set by
_ga Tells one visitor apart from another. 2 years Google
_ga_CCJ9DYJ0W7 Keeps the analytics session state for this property. 2 years Google

If you log in

Administrator accounts receive standard WordPress session cookies (wordpress_logged_in_…, wp-settings-…) so the dashboard works. Ordinary visitors never receive these.

What we do not use

No advertising cookies. No social media tracking pixels. No cross-site profiling. We do not sell or share data with advertisers.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies above may stop parts of this site working as expected. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a rejection of analytics automatically.
